We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Mongolian artists honored at the recent Arirang Master awarding ceremony. The event took place on September 9, 2024, at the Uv Erdene Theatre in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and was organized by the National Center for Cultural Heritage (NCCH) of Mongolia.
The "Arirang Master" program, initiated by the international cultural organization Culture Masters based in South Korea, is a prestigious global initiative recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) worldwide. The title "Arirang Master" was created to highlight the work of artisans and communities dedicated to creatively safeguarding, fostering, and transmitting traditional cultural expressions.
In July 2024, the International Advisory Board (IAB) of Culture Masters selected 19 artists and cultural practitioners from around the world as "Arirang Masters." This year’s honorees hail from countries including Azerbaijan, Botswana, Canada, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Norway, Nepal, Peru, and Sri Lanka. They were recognized for their invaluable contributions to preserving cultural heritage, and as part of this honor, each was officially appointed as an "Arirang Master," symbolizing their role as global cultural ambassadors.
