Culture Masters Expands International Advisory Board with Global Experts.

Culture Masters (https://www.culturemasters.org/public/) is thrilled to announce the addition of two new esteemed members to its International Advisory Board (IAB).

These individuals bring their unique perspectives and specialized knowledge, which will further enrich the diverse expertise of the board.

Meet the New Members:

Jahangir Selimkhanov (Azerbaijan):

Advisor to the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Jahangir is a prominent member of the European Cultural Parliament and the Cultural Policy Designers Network (CPDN). His career includes significant roles such as the President of the Administrative Council of the UNESCO International Fund for the Promotion of Culture and as a National Expert in the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Jahangir has been pivotal in promoting Azerbaijani arts globally, organizing concert tours, and releasing CDs of traditional Azerbaijani music since the early 1990s. Recently, he served as a judge at the Classical: NEXT Festival and Conference in Berlin, in May 2024, and has authored several scholarly essays in cultural studies.

Deirdre Prins-Solani (South Africa):

An expert in education, culture, and heritage, Deirdre Prins-Solani has dedicated over three decades to the fields of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Her research focuses on how living heritage and memory can influence inclusive urban planning. Deirdre has been an active facilitator under the UNESCO 2003 Convention, training professionals across Africa, the Caribbean, and the Asia Pacific regions. Her written works contribute to the understanding of memory, living heritage, and sustainable development. Deirdre's ongoing efforts in the Mekong region include facilitating discussions and mentoring in ethical arts practice, emphasizing her belief in culture and heritage as essential elements of spatial justice and communal belonging.

Importance of New Members:

With the inclusion of these distinguished experts, the IAB is now better positioned to guide Culture Masters in developing new initiatives, such as sponsorship campaigns and training programs for ICH Stakeholders. The board now consists of 18 members representing 15 countries
