Culture Masters and IAB Celebrate World Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage

October 17, 2024, marks the inaugural World Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage, a pivotal moment for celebrating and safeguarding cultural expressions globally. Proclaimed by UNESCO in 2023, this day underscores the essential role intangible heritage plays in promoting global unity, sustainability, and cultural diversity.

Culture Masters: Leading Global Cultural Preservation Through Collective Efforts

Culture Masters, alongside its dedicated International Advisory Board (IAB) and committed staff, continues to spearhead transformative initiatives that bridge cultural heritage with modern urban development. A recent milestone is the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) on October 9, 2024. This partnership strengthens efforts such as the Arirang Master Program, which acknowledges global intangible heritage artists and practitioners, offering them platforms and support to safeguard and share their cultural expressions with the world. Through the Arirang Culture Connect (arirangculture.news), an online platform, Culture Masters amplifies these initiatives, ensuring cultural heritage reaches a global audience.

During the MoU signing, Culture Masters and its team presented a comprehensive vision for Siheung Turtle Island, promoting it as a model of heritage-based urban development. This project showcases the organization's innovative approach, which integrates cultural preservation with sustainable urban growth. By engaging intangible heritage as a key driver, Culture Masters, with its staff and international advisors, is building resilient and inclusive urban communities.

Addressing Global Challenges: Climate Change, Peace, and Sustainability

The collective efforts of Culture Masters and the IAB are grounded in addressing pressing global challenges, including climate change and the cultivation of peace. Every project—whether urban development or cultural programming—is designed with these broader issues in mind. By aligning cultural preservation with sustainability goals, the organization contributes to global peace-building and resilience, fostering a more harmonious future.

Fostering a Global Cultural Movement Through Collaboration

As we observe World Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage, we honor the invaluable work of Culture Masters’ IAB and its dedicated team. Their joint efforts, from the Arirang Master Appointment Project to pioneering urban development strategies, are shaping the future of cultural preservation. Through international collaboration, education, and heritage-driven development, Culture Masters ensures that intangible heritage not only thrives but also fuels sustainable growth and cultural diversity for generations to come.
