The World Children's Intangible Heritage Festival 2024 was held last October 4 and 5, 2024. It was held at the National Intangible Heritage Center in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province. Hosted by Jeonju City Hall and organized by UNESCO ICHCAP, this event is a continuation of the 2023 World Children's Intangible Heritage Festival, the first of its kind. Several international participants from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam will participate in this program along with participants from various regions of the country.

The National Folk Museum of Korea, the Center for Traditional Korean Culture, the Asian Cultural Center Foundation and the UNESCO International Center for Martial Arts will also participate in the event. Considering children as the future custodians of ICH, this World Children's Intangible Heritage Festival 2024 is an attempt to give them the opportunity to explore and experience intangible cultural heritage. This two-day event will consist of two segments - performances and exhibitions; and experience stalls. Children can enjoy multicultural intangible heritage performances such as Jeonju Children's Flag Dance, Jinju Children's Gummu, Chungju Children's Taekkyeon, Jindo Drum Dance, Namwon Pansori, Traditional Sri Lankan Dance, Traditional Malaysian Dance and Traditional Lion Dance Vietnam at the World Children's Intangible Heritage Presentation Hall. While some fun activities including cross-cultural games, mask dance, world mask inhibition, yurt making activities, Korean traditional prop making as well as a digital virtual reality (VR) experience zone will be available at the World Children`s Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Class. This world festival will bring comprehensive intangible cultural heritage experience opportunities for children around the world.

I feel proud as the Alumni Cultural Partnership Initiative ICHCAP was given the responsibility to lead Team Malaysia to bring the Dance Group from Sekolah Kebangsaan Seberang Perak to highlight various forms of traditional Malaysian dance. A total of eight dancers from this school performed dances that highlight traditional heritage and include various ethnic groups in Malaysia. This extraordinary celebration is an honor for Malaysia for successfully bringing Malaysian cultural art to the international level.

Ms. Maisaraf (Alumni CPI 2016, ICHCAP) has been responsible for leading the Malaysian Dance Group from Seberang Perak National School to perform at the Festival Children World in National Intangible Heritage Center in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province. Hosted by Jeonju City Hall and organized by UNESCO ICHCAP.
